TuTo Hockey is a Finnish professional ice hockey club based in Turku, whose home club Turun Toverit was founded in 1929 and plays in the Mestis. Your home matches played the team since 1973 in the 3000 -seat end Kupittaan Jäähalli. In the 2006 season, the team completed their home games at the Elysée Arena, today Turkuhalli and returned to the following season back into the Kupittaan Jäähalli.

History

The sports club Turun Toverit (short TuTo ) was founded in 1929, the Hockey Department was created in 1946. Displaced Quick Hockey Bandy as a winter sport in Turku, while football was played in summer. First Turun Toverit played at the regional level, but could 1965 and in the first division, the former Suomi- sarja ascend. 1968 and 1970 the team finished third in the Finnish championship and reached the greatest successes of the club's history. In the early 1970s played the two city rivals TPS and TuTo in the SM- liiga. 1973 attracted both teams into the Kupittaan Jäähalli, in the TuTo with short interruptions plays today. TPS plays since 1990 in much larger Turkuhalli.

1975 had the team from the first division and played from then descend into the newly created second league, the I- divisioona. 1988 separated the hockey department of the local club and called himself TuTo Hockey.

The team won the championship of the 1987 and 1994 I- divisioona and increased in the latter year in the SM- liiga on. By 1996 TuTo held in the first league, before it descended into the Mestis. 2000 for the operation of gambling -team a corporation, the TuTo Hockey Oy, founded. At the end of the season 2007/2008 TuTo reached the championship title of the Mestis, but was not allowed to ascend to the first division, as these represented a closed league.
