1993–94 2. Bundesliga

In the season 1993/94 the 2nd Bundesliga, VfL Bochum, Bayer reached 05 Uerdingen and TSV 1860 München promotion to the Bundesliga. After the season, the league was reduced from 20 to 18 teams. There were therefore five relegated but only three climbers from the top leagues.

The game between Uerdingen and Bochum (3:1) was annulled by the DFB and rescheduled (3-0). Reason: Bochum's goalkeeper Andreas Wessels was struck in the 50th minute of a projectile and had to be replaced.

Rise

Bochum and Uerdingen reached the direct promotion back to the Bundesliga. 1860 Munich managed as a second division newcomer to exercise direct march, this was until then no other club has succeeded. The Munich-based club was 1980/81 relegated from the Bundesliga. A year later the club the second division license was revoked.

Descent

Due to the reduction of the league from 20 to 18 clubs had to dismount five teams in the newly formed Regional. In addition to the newcomers food ( license revocation ) and Tennis Borussia dismounted also Wuppertal, Jena and Stuttgart Kickers.

Scorer

Top Scorer of the season was Uwe Wegmann from VfL Bochum with 22 goals.
