The 1997/98 season was the 78th season of the Eredivisie, the highest Belgian Hockey League. Master became the second overall time in club history HYC Herentals.

In the main round of the eight teams each completed 28 games. The top four teams qualified for the playoffs, where the Master was played. For a win, each team received three points, a draw there was a point and a defeat.
