1st British Academy Film Awards

The British Academy Film Awards 1948, at that time still called British Film Awards, were the first awards ceremony, which was conducted by the British Film Academy. The award for the year 1947 was held on 21 and 22 May 1948 for the Rialto Cinema in London. Were awarded prizes for the best British film and best film as well as a special prize.
