2006 Horn of Africa food crisis
The hunger crisis in the Horn of Africa in 2006 threatened according to FAO estimates in January 2006 about 11 million people - especially ranchers - in northeastern Kenya, southern Somalia, southern and eastern Ethiopia and Djibouti. She was the result of drought and conflict (especially the Somali civil war ) in the region. Later in the year 2006, there was in parts of the same areas to floods, which aggravated the situation.
