The Eredivisie 2007/ 08 was the first season of the Dutch Eredivisie women. Champion AZ Alkmaar.
Season overview
The 2007/08 season was the first women's soccer season in the history of the Dutch professional football. The League went with six teams at the start, the playing off against each other the first women's football champions in four encounters. With a total of eleven wins, four draws and five defeats, the AZ Alkmaar prevailed against Willem II Tilburg. Worst team was the SC Heerenveen, which could only enter a total of two victories. With eight draws throughout the competition to ADO Den Haag had to settle. Most aggressive team was Willem II, who brought it to 41 hits. You had to Karin Stevens and Dominique Vugts the best storm that achieved both together 29 hits for your team. Stevens was also with ten goals ahead of Sylvia Smit of FC Twente Enschede Toptorjägerin the league. With 40 goals against ADO was as bad as any other team. The best defense presented the master with only sixteen goals conceded. The best player of the season, the Belgian Femke Maes was excellent. She was also with four hits best foreign scorer. The record was broken the following season.
