2008 Women's Baseball World Cup
The Baseball World Women's Championship 2008 was the third edition of this baseball competition for women and was held from 24th to 29th August, 2008 in Matsuyama instead. It was played in the " Botchan Stadium" ( Matsuyama Chūō Kōen Yakyūjō ) and " Madonna stage," the associated second stadium. At the tournament, a total of eight teams participate.
The opening ceremony took place at 18:30 clock in Botchan Stadium on August 25, 2008.
The title was won for the first time the team from Japan.

The top two teams in each group played in an intermediate round to the finals, the other teams played a knockout round for the placements 5 - 8

Second round
The two best teams in the second round group C will qualify for the final, the other two teams will play for the bronze medal. The results against the teams from the preliminary round groups will be taken in the second round. In case of equality the direct encounter decides.
The other four teams playing for a place in the fifth -place play- The mode provides the the third in Group A against the fourth in Group B, and the third group B plays against the Fourth Group A. The winners of these games then play for 5th place, the losers to 7th place
