2009 AFC U-19 Women's Championship

The fifth edition of the U-19 Asian Cup Women was held from August 1 to August 12, 2009 in the People's Republic of China instead. China taught this championship for the third time after 2004 and 2007. The top three teams in the tournament will participate in the U-20 World Cup 2010 Women in Germany.

Most of the games were held in Hankou Sports Culture Stadium in Wuhan. This stadium was used in 2007 at the World Cup of women as training grounds. The stadium can accommodate 5,000 spectators.

Qualification and participants

The main qualification for the finals was played between October 2008 and November 7, 2009 28. It fought a total of 11 teams, divided into two groups, a place in the finals. The three group best qualified for the final tournament. Hosts China, defending champion North Korea and Japan were directly qualified. For the first time Vietnam could qualify for a final tournament.

Group stage

The draw for the group was held in Kuala Lumpur on 27 February 2009. The opening match contested Japan and Australia.
