2009 ICC Champions Trophy
The ICC Champions Trophy 2009 was a One- Day International cricket tournament, which was held between 22 September and 5 October in South Africa. In the final, Australia won against New Zealand. Venues were the Wanderers Stadium and Centurion Park, both located in Johannesburg.
Original plans
Originally the tournament was to take place in September 2008 in Pakistan, but has been postponed to October 2009 due to the security situation on 24 August 2008 On 1 February 2009, the ICC decided that the tournament would not take place in Pakistan, forgave it in March 2009 to South Africa.
