2009 Women's EuroHockey Nations Championship
The field hockey European Championship Women 2009 is the ninth edition of the Field Hockey Championship of the ladies. It took place from August 22 to 29, 2009 in Amstelveen, the Netherlands instead.
The venue was the Wagener Stadium, which had already been a venue for the 1973 Men 's World Cup and 1983 European Championships and the men's four Champions Trophies. Winners were the Netherlands, who defeated the German national team with 3-2 goals in the final. The Dutch women thus secured their seventh European title in nine previously been dubbed title fights.

Descent games
The Third and Fourth of both groups form a descent group. The two latter must descend into the Nations Trophy, coming up out of the 2011 European Championships Belgium and Italy. The games of the third party against the Fourth are taken from the preliminary group.
