2010 World Mountain Running Championships

The 26th Mountain Running World Championships ( 26th World Mountain Running Championships ) of the World Mountain Running Association ( WMRA ) were held in the Slovenian town of Kamnik on 5 September 2010. They consisted of four competitions, which led to the Velika Planina. The men coped with (uphill 1295 m and 75 m downhill) a course of 12 km in length with a net increase of 1220 meters of altitude. The women and juniors started over a distance of 8.5 km with a net increase of 960 meters in altitude ( 1035 m uphill and 75 m downhill) and the junior women over a distance of 4.5 km with a net increase of 420 meters above sea level (430 m uphill and 10 m downhill).

For the seniors competitions athletes were admitted who were at least 18 years old on 31 December 2010, for the junior competitions those who were 16-19 years old on December 31, 2010.

In all events there was ever a team ranking, in which the positions of the top four, which in the Junior Women that of the two best runners of every nation were added in the men with the women and juniors of the best three and.

39 countries as never before participated in the World Championships, so many.
