2011 Men's EuroHockey Nations Championship

The field hockey European Championship Men 2011 was held from August 20 to 28 in Moenchengladbach, together with the European ladies. She was the thirteenth edition of the field hockey championship of men. European champion was the team of the Federal Republic of Germany, who defeated the team of the Netherlands in the final; the third place went to England ahead of Belgium.

At the same time, the tournament was considered a qualifying opportunity for the 2012 Olympic Games in London. There have been awarded three places namely to Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium to the EM- Fourth, since the European Championship bronze medalist England qualify automatically as Olympic host country.

Descent games

The Third and Fourth of both groups form a descent group. The two latter must descend into the Nations Trophy, coming up out of the European Championship 2013 Czech Republic and Poland. The matches of the third party against the Fourth same group are taken from the preliminary round.

Since England takes part in the finals, the other three teams are qualified for the Olympic Games in 2012.
