2012 UEFA European Under-17 Championship

The final round of 30, U-17 Football Championship took place from 4th to 16th May 2012 in Slovenia. In the final, the two finalists of last year Germany and the Netherlands were compared again and again, the Dutch were able to win.

Qualification

52 U -17 national teams - and thus excluding all hosts Slovenia UEFA members - participated in the first qualifying round. Hosts Slovenia was set as the only team automatically for the finals.

The first qualifying round began on 21 September 2011 and was completed on 2 November 2011. The elite round began on 20 March 2012 and ended on 31 March 2012.

In the first qualifying round to Germany and Switzerland were able to prevail and reach the Elite round. Germany won all his three games without conceding a goal - 5-0 against hosts Estonia, 1-0 win over Albania and 2-0 against Slovakia. The Swiss ended in 2nd place in their group after victory ( 5-1 ) against Iceland, draw (0-0 ) against Greece and defeat (2:3) against the hosts of Israel. Austria failed to qualify in his group, as they have won a victory (2-0 against Cyprus ) and two low Langen ( 1-2 against hosts Denmark and 2:3 against Italy ).

In the elite round, Germany continued to host with two victories ( 4-0 against Turkey and 2-1 against Bulgaria) and a draw ( 0-0 against Portugal), his talent as table first by. Mode

The eight teams were divided into two groups of four teams each. Within the groups played each team once against each other. The group winners and runners reached the semi-finals. Their champion reached the final; Third place was not played. The regular time was twice 40 minutes. From the semi-finals no extension, but immediately afterwards followed by the score is level after regulation time, a penalty shoot-out.

The final round of matches were played in four cities, the country's capital, Ljubljana (Stadium Stožice ) and Maribor ( Ljudski vrt ), Domžale (Stadium Domžale ) and Lendava ( Športni park Lendava ).

Preliminary round

The preliminary round was played in two groups of four teams. The two group winners and runners-up qualified for the semifinals. In case of equal first chose the direct comparison and then the goal difference over the ranking.
