Switzerland national under-17 football team

The Swiss U-17 national football team is the national team of U-17 Junior of the Swiss Football Association. Be eligible, players who have not yet completed their 17 years and have Swiss nationality. In tournaments, the age is instrumental in the first qualifier. Current coach of the team is Yves Débonnaire.

U -17 World Championships

The selection of the SFV qualified in 2009 for the first time for a U-17 World Cup and also won this tournament for the first participation, the Swiss could all seven games, with a total score of 18-7 to win. Coach of the team was Dany Ryser.

U -17 European Championships

Until 2001 no U -17, but a U-16 European Championship was held. Best result of a Swiss U-16 was the 4th place in 1997.

The U -17 qualified first time in 2002 for a European Championship and immediately became the first and so far only time European champions. The team won all the games in their group, the Ukraine was defeated 3-1, Portugal 1-0 France 2-1.
