2012 WAFF Championship

The Football West Asia Championship 2012 ( officially: 7th Waff Championship, Kuwait 2012 ™ ) will be held in Kuwait from 8 to 20 December. There are a total of eleven teams in the West Asian Football Federation ( WAFF ) aligned finals compete to determine the West Asian champions.

Participant

The eleven participating teams were divided into three groups, with two groups was occupied with four teams and one group of three teams. In the group stage the teams in the league system each played once against each other. The group winners and the best runner-up moved into the semi-finals. The winners of the semi-finals wore for the final. The third place was not played.

The draw for the group stage was held in Kuwait City on 16 September 2012. It disclosed the following groups:

Since the group C had only three teams, the results of the second- placed team were not counted from Group A and B against the teams last in the determination of the best runners-up.
