2012 Women's Baseball World Cup

The Baseball World Women's Championship in 2012 was the fifth edition of this baseball competition for women and was held from 10 to 19 August 2012 in Edmonton instead. 29 (23 preliminary round, three semi-finals, match for 7th place and medal games) of 36 games found in Telus Field, and the remaining seven ( five groups, one semi-final and play for 5th place ) at John Fry Park instead. At the tournament, a total of eight teams participate.

The opening ceremony took place at 19:00 clock at Telus Field on August 10, 2012.

The title took the team from Japan and were able to win the title for the third time in a row.

The Games of the Japanese team, and therefore the final could be followed live on its own channel on YouTube.

Referee

The referee came mostly from North America, except for the Netherlands, however, each participating nation had sent an arbitrator to Edmonton.

Preliminary round

All eight teams qualify for the semi-finals so-called. Due to the game mode in the final round, but there is the possibility to play for medals only for the teams in the top four places.
