2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship

The Volleyball World Championship for Men 2014 will take place from August 30 to September 21 in Poland. Addition to the host 23 other teams to take part.

Mode

The tournament begins with a preliminary round in four groups (A -D), each with six teams. The four best teams from each group reach the second round, which will be held in two groups (E and F), each with eight participants. Venues

The World Cup will be held in six Polish cities. The games take place in Wroclaw, Bydgoszcz, Gdańsk, Katowice, Kraków and Łódź. Qualification

The continental qualifying matches will be played from April 2012 to June 2014. Poland is set to host. Around the world, 154 nations compete for the remaining 23 places in the finals.

Europe

Russia as a European champion and the EM- finalist Italy are directly qualified. The remaining European teams determined in qualifying six other participants. In the first round occurred in May 2013 28 teams in seven groups. The group winners reached the third round, while the runners-up playing off three more places in an additional round in October. The third round was held from January 5, 2014 from 3. The winners of the five groups of four best runners qualified for the World Cup finals. Africa

The African qualifiers will be held in three stages. In the first round in July 2013 were 33 teams in ten groups. The second round was held with 25 teams in October / November 2013. Asia

North and Central America

South America

Brazil 2013 is just as qualified as the winner of the Volleyball World Grand Prix as the runner-up Argentina. Four other teams determined the third party in a tournament from 13 to September 15, 2013 in Colombia. Here, Venezuela prevailed.
