( 2023) Asaph (1952 SA) is an asteroid of the main belt, which was on 16 September 1952 discovered at Goethe Link Observatory as part of the Indiana Asteroid Program, which was initiated by the U.S. astronomer Frank K. Edmondson.
Designation
The asteroid was named as already the moon crater Hall, after the American astronomer Asaph Hall (1829-1907), among others, the Martian moons Phobos and Deimos discovered (both 1877).
