(8806) Fetisov

( 8806 ) Fetisov is an asteroid of the main central belt, which was discovered by Soviet astronomer Nikolai Chernykh on October 22, 1982 at the Crimean Observatory in Nautschnyj (IAU code 095). An unconfirmed sighting with the provisional designation 1976 SP8 there had been at the Crimean Observatory in Nautschnyj already on 28 September 1976.

Mean distance from the sun ( semimajor axis), eccentricity and inclination of the orbital plane of ( 8806 ) Fetisov roughly correspond to the Dora family, a group of asteroids that is named after ( 668 ) Dora.

( 8806 ) Fetisov was named on 26 July 2000 after the Russian ice hockey player Vyacheslav Alexandrovich Fetisov, two years before he was appointed Minister of Sports of Russia.
