A Certain Trigger (English as: A certain impulse ) is the debut album of posts originating from Newcastle band Maxïmo Park. It climbed into the UK album charts at number 15, it received a lot of positive reviews and was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize in August 2005. Meanwhile, it has achieved Platinum status in the UK.

The name of the album comes from a part of the song Once, a Glimpse.
