Aaron Cook (taekwondo)

Aaron Arthur Cook ( born January 2, 1991 Dorchester ) is a British Taekwondo. It starts in the weight category up to 80 kilograms.

Cook will start for the club Scorpion Taekwondo, he takes since 2005 in international competitions. A year later he won the bronze medal at the Junior World Championships his first medal, again a year later he was in Baku for the first time European Junior Champion. In the adult category Cook ventured into the international forefront in 2008. He failed to qualify for the Olympic Games in Beijing, where he sensationally moved into the semi-finals with two wins. After a narrow defeat in the semi-final against Mauro Sarmiento he was defeated in the battle for bronze against Zhu Guo, so that at the end of Cook took the ungrateful fifth. Also in 2008, won Cook in Izmir the Junior World Championship title. His athletic biggest successes celebrated Cook at the European Championships 2010 in Saint Petersburg and in 2012 in Manchester, where he was European champion in the weight class up to 80 kg each with scarce Final victories.

The British Association took in 2011 in Cook's weight class a starting place for the 2012 Olympics to complete. In December 2011, Cook won the Olympic test competition and was then already as a medal candidate for the games. Nevertheless, the British Association announced in June 2012 Lutalo Muhammad preference and nominated Cook surprisingly not. Cook then complained against the decision of the Association.
