Abbāsi House

The Abbasi Mansion ( Chane -ye Abbasi - hā ) is a large historic town house in the Iranian city of Kashan. It is situated near the well known Tabatabaei house in the historic district of Kashan and is now a museum.

Built in the late 18th century building is a good example of Kaschaner town house architecture. It has four courtyards with pools for cooling the air. Different areas of the house originally had various functions: it was only -only guest house and private sectors for the lady of the house.

The town house is elaborately decorated: carvings adorn the walls, decorated domes with indirect light prevent excessive heating of the rooms.

The Abbasi house has a secret escape route.

Other famous town houses of its kind in Kashan are the Khāneh -ye Ameri - hā, the Khāneh -ye Boroujerdi, the Khāneh -ye -ye Khāneh Tabatabaei and the Taj.
