Abdel Khaliq Mahjub

Abd al - Chaliq Mahdschub (Arabic عبد الخالق محجوب ʿ Abd al - Chāliq Mahdschūb, DMG ʿ Abd al - Ḫāliq Maḥǧūb in Egyptian pronunciation: ʿ Abd al - Chāliq Mahgūb; alternative spellings Abdel Khaliq Mahjoub Abdel Khaliq Mahgoub or ) ( born September 23, 1927 in Omdurman, † July 28, 1971 in Khartoum ) was a Sudanese politician.

While studying at the University of Cairo Mahdschub joined the independence movement.

Since 1949 he was General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Sudanese Communist Party (SCP ). 1958 Mahdschub was elected chairman of the party, founded in 1953 Anti-imperialist front. Between April 1967 and May 1969 Mahdschub was a member of the Constituent Assembly of the Union block the socialist forces. From April to August 1970 was President Nimeiry Mahdschub deported to Egypt, then tolerated but again the political activity of SKP, although parties were banned in Sudan.

Mahdschub was arrested for his alleged involvement in the coup attempt of leftist officers against the President Jafar Muhammad at - Numairi on July 19, 1971 and executed on 28 July 1971. The SKP was banned.
