Abdiqasim Salad Hassan
Abdikassim Salad Hassan ( b. 1941; Abdiqasim Salad Hassan also written Somali: Cabdiqaasim Salaad Xasan; Arabic عبد القاسم صلاد حسن, DMG ʿ Abdu l - Ḥasan Qāsim salad ) was 2000-2004 president of the transitional government of Somalia. He belongs to the Somali clan of Ayr - Habar - Gedir - Hawiye.
In the regime of Siad Barre's Abdikassim Salad Hassan was temporarily interior minister and staunch supporter of the Barre declared by the state ideology " scientific socialism ". Later he turned to efforts for the unity of Hawiye, and to a certain extent Islamism. On August 27, 2000, he was determined at peace talks in exile in Arta ( Djibouti) to the post of transitional president, which he held until October 14, 2004. His government remained during this time in exile and controlled only parts of the Somali capital Mogadishu.
