Abdou Kolley

Abdou Kolley ( born January 1, 1970 in Gambia also Abdou Colley ) is a politician in the West African nation of Gambia.

Life

Professional work

Kolley studied at the University of Saint -Etienne until 1997 and began his career with the Department of State for Finance & Economic Affairs as an economist. In 2001 he moved to the Gambia Divestiture Agency, whose director he was. He remained there until 2004, when he moved to the Office of the United Nations Development Programme in the Gambia.

Political action

As a non-party candidate in the parliamentary elections in Gambia in 2007 Kolley approached in the constituency Kombo South. He defeated Paul L. Mendy, the candidate of the Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction (APRC ).

In the same year he was appointed to the Cabinet of Gambia as Minister of Trade, Industry and Commerce ( Secretary of State for Trade, Industry and Employment English) appointed. He served in this position until 19 June 2009 and then took over the finance portfolio as Minister of Finance ( Secretary of State for Finance and Economic Affairs ).

On March 19, 2010 Kolley as Minister of Finance and Economy (English Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs ) by Momodou S. Foon was replaced. He held the office on July 21, 2010, however, back again.

In a cabinet reshuffle was Kolley (English Trade, Regional Integration and Employment) appointed on 27 January 2011 again as Minister of Trade, Regional Integration and Employment. With effect from March 18, 2011 Kolley was dismissed from his post as Minister of Commerce.
