Abductor pollicis brevis muscle

The abductor pollicis brevis (Latin for " short Thumb Abductor " ) is one of the muscles of the thenar eminence. He spreads together with the abductor pollicis longus thumbs from (abduction ). During the abductor pollicis longus thumb to page abspreizt, the abduction of the thumb is done by the abductor pollicis brevis in palmar direction ( Palmarabduktion ). Other features include the support of diffraction in the metacarpophalangeal joint and extension at Daumenendgelenk.
