Abdul Vas

Abdul Vas ( born March 15, 1981 in Maracay, Venezuela) is a contemporary painter and draftsman. After studying in Venezuela and Amsterdam, lives and works of artists in Madrid and Amsterdam.

Work

Abdul Vas work includes the sometimes aggressive attempt to address the obsessions of his native Venezuela with the symbols of the American dream and its myths. Central image component is often one or more taps, so to speak, represent the male member of the American cowboy culture. In his paintings, often weapons, fuel- absorbing SUVs, baseball and beauty contests are discussed. It also dive often references to the rock group AC / DC, the American baseball team the Cincinnati Reds or the National Rifle Association on. Great influence on the art of Abdul Vas, Marc Chagall and James Ensor.
