Abigail Williams (Band)

Abigail Williams is an American heavy metal band from New York that combines the styles of Death Metal and Black Metal with each other. They named themselves after Abigail Williams from the Salem Witch Trials.

Abigail Williams excited by live performances before the release of their EP Legend some attention since some of the members are active in prominent bands like The Black Dahlia Murder and Job for a Cowboy. In addition, published in 2005 a bootleg called Gallow Hill on which the songs were released on their Myspace page without permission of the band.

2006 Legends EP was released through the label Candlelight Records, which received mostly positive feedback. 2008 her debut album In the Shadow of a Thousand Suns, with which the band managed the commercial breakthrough.

The band combines symphonic Black Metal with Death Metal and Metalcore play at a high technical level. On the side of conservative Black Metal scene this combination came across some rejection.

On 2 July 2012, the band announced that the upcoming U.S. tour will be the last and the band dissolves it.
