Abolqasem Najm

Abol Qassem Najm (* 1892 in Tehran, † October 19, 1981 ) was a Persian ambassador.

Life

Abol Qassem Najm was the son of Mirza Mahmoud from Shiraz. After Abol Qassem Najm was orphaned, he was adopted by his maternal grandfather, the astronomer Mirza Abdulqaffar Nadjm ol - Molk in Dar al - Fonoun, who taught him basic school knowledge and after his retirement the title Nadjm ol - Molk ( Star of the country ) inherited. Abol Qassem Najm studied at the Tehran School of Political Sciences [ wp 1] and entered the Foreign Service in 1912.

1934, when he was ambassador in Berlin, alleged plans by Mohammed Zahir Shah was on him to rename his state in Iran, launched.

From 1935 to 1937 he was ambassador in Paris. From March 1940 to May 1942 he was ambassador in Tokyo.

From 1945 to 1946 he was Finance Minister and Foreign Minister in the Cabinet (politics ) of Prime Minister Ebrahim Hakimi. On December 23, 1945, he brought in the Majlis (Iran) a legislative initiative establishing an agricultural bank and a land reform of land from the ownership of Reza Shah Pahlavi. Both suggestions were not majority.

From 1956 to 1957 he was governor of mineral -rich Khuzestan.
