Abuna Salama III

Salama III. († October 25, 1867 ) was a Metropolitan of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church.

The educated in Cairo Copt was still consecrated in 1841 in his twenties, by the Koptenpatriarchen Peter VII of Alexandria as Bishop of Ethiopia and Gondar reached on 25 February 1842., Where he soon came into conflict with the king Sahla Śellase († 1847), excommunicated him, and was subsequently exiled to Tigre. 1854 brought him the later Emperor Tewodros II to Gondar back, he "king of kings" crowned on 11 February 1855.
