Acquisition (software)

Acquisition (English " purchase ", " purchase ", " acquisition ") is a file sharing client for the Gnutella network, which is offered exclusively for the operating system Mac OS X. The client uses the same core program such as LimeWire (open source), but the graphical user interface is closed source. Acquisition is offered as shareware.

His strengths sees Acquisition especially in close cooperation with the operating system and its iTunes music player. Acquisition automatically sorted files downloaded by media type in the appropriate Mac OS X folders for music, movies and pictures, music is automatically transferred to your iTunes music library on the user's request.

The author of the software is the Australian David Watanabe, who has also created the Feed Reader News Fire and the BitTorrent client Xtorrent.

The development of the German version was discontinued after version 113.2, the translator joined Phex.
