Active Server Pages

Active Server Pages (ASP) is a technology developed by Microsoft SSI successor technology, the server-side generated with use of a scripting language such as PHP, VBScript, Perl, JScript or websites. ASP was originally interpreted only by the web server Internet Information Services ( IIS). Meanwhile, there are also various ports for the Apache web server. ASP was published in 1996. You can make this technology of their options in terms of web development on a par with PHP, PerlScript, CFM and Perl. In Java there is the possibility of servlets and Java Server Pages ( JSP).

ASP is no longer being developed by Microsoft. The successor technology ASP.NET has superseded ASP with the appearance of. NET Framework in 2002.

Despite this, and despite the many advantages of ASP.NET numerous small projects with ASP ( "Classic ASP " ) are also being developed today.
