Adam Gottlob Moltke

Adam Gottlob Moltke ( born November 10, 1710 Good Walk Village in East; † September 25, 1792 at Bregentved at Haslev ) was Danish lord steward at the court in Copenhagen.

Life

Moltke came in 1722 from Mecklenburg to Copenhagen to become the Crown Prince Christian at the court of King Frederick IV of Denmark Page. As this 1730 as Christian VI. ascended the throne, he was Chamber Page of 7 -year-old Crown Prince Frederick. When Frederick after the death of his father Christian VI. 1746 when King Frederick V ascended the Danish throne, Moltke was appointed at the same time from him to marshal and equipped with the Crown Estate Bregentved at Haslev. 1750 was raised by Moltke in the Danish title of count.

Adam Gottlob Moltke acquired during the reign of Frederick V. considerable reputation. He was not only Marshal of the Court but also president of the Stockholm Bank, the Asian company, and the West Indian - Guinean company in Copenhagen, the Frederiks Hospital, the arable Academy and the Royal Academy of Arts. In Germany he was a member of the Leopoldina. In 1784 he was made an honorary member of the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences.

With the death of Frederick in 1766, his influence ends in Denmark and he retired to his estate Bregentved.

He was winner of the Dannebrog and the Order of the Elephant (1752 ). His published memoirs were laid down by him in German language.

In Holstein him the manor Niendorf, which he bought in 1759 by Henry of Brömbsen; he sold it already in 1761 at the Lübeck alderman Diedrich Bartels.

Moltke was married twice and had a total of 15 children from two marriages.
