Adel Bagrou

Adel Bagrou, عدل بكرو, is a town in the management unit Hodh Ech Chargui in the south of the West African state of Mauritania. It lies on the border of the neighboring state of Mali.

The population of the border town has greatly increased in recent years. While in 1977 only 2199 and 1988, only 6,020 people lived in Adel Bagrou, these were 2000 36.007. In 2005, the population of the city was estimated to be 58 429, making it the fourth largest city of Mauritania and largest city of the administrative unit Hodh Ech Chargui before Boû Gâdoûm grew.
