Aderbissinat

Region

Aderbissinat is a rural municipality and the capital of the eponymous department Aderbissinat in Niger.

Geography

Located in the central part of the country church is located on the southeastern edge of the protected area Réserve de Faune de Tadrès shot and about 200 kilometers south of the regional capital Agadez. Due to the north of the municipal territory, the terrain level Tiguidit draws, beyond the high mountains Aïr begins. The neighboring municipalities are Dabaga in the north, Tabelot in the east, Tarka and Tenhya in the south and Ingall in the West. The municipality is divided into 88 administrative villages, a traditional village, three hamlets representing two camps and 54 water points. The main town of the rural community is the administrative village Adarbisnat (also Aderbissinat ).

History

The municipality is the village Marandet, one of the ancient centers of the Aïr.

In Aderbissinat an administrative post in 1988 ( post administratif ) set up, one from a chef de poste administratif headed lower administrative unit. Since 2011 part of the rural community not to Tchirozérine Department, but for the newly created Department Aderbissinat. The administrative posts was raised to the chief town of the department.

Population

At the 2001 census Aderbissinat had 17,540 inhabitants. For 2010 26.238 inhabitants were calculated. The population is made up of Tuareg, Hausa and Arab ethnicities.

Economy and infrastructure

Aderbissinat lies on the international highway Algiers- Lagos Highway, which is responsible for the trans-Saharan trade of importance. As coined by harmattan wind region is part of the Sahel zone, recurring droughts occur. Livelihoods provide goats, cattle and camels. While the south-east of the township dominated by the desert, the Southwest can still be used for grazing. In the north, the area of the mountain economy of the Aïr Mountains begins. A regional specialty is a dry goat cheese. In the capital there in August 2000 a local citizen radio (radio communautaire). In the area around the village there are several important dinosaur graveyards.

Community partnership

Aderbissinat maintains a community partnership with the Communauté de communes de Guingamp, an association of French municipalities Graces, Guingamp, Pabu Plouisy, Ploumagoar and Saint- Agathon.
