Adil Candemir

Adil Candemir ( * 1917 in Amasya, † 12 January 1989) was a Turkish wrestler.

Candemir grew up in Amasya and began as a teenager with the Turkish national sport of oil wrestling. In addition, however, he started soon also the Olympic rings both in the Greco-Roman style, as well as in free style. In 1936 he was part of the Olympic team, but was not used. His international career began in 1948 in London, where he won a silver medal in free style at middleweight. His coaches were then Onni Pellinen and Nuri Boytorun. In 1952 he retired from international Ringer sport. Candemir itself was coach and led, among other things, Mahmut Atalay and Hamit Kaplan in the top.
