Administrative divisions of Tuva

The Republic of Tuva in the Siberian federal district of the Russian Federation is divided into 17 Koschuune and 2 urban districts. The Koschuunen are a total of 4 urban and 120 rural municipalities assumed (as of 2010).

The Koschuune meet the Rajons the other federal subjects of Russia. The historical Tuvan name Koschuun for a larger, more villages or communities comprehensive management unit is due to the word for a military banners as well as the area under his control. It was reintroduced in the 1990s, and is responsible for Rajons the Republic of Tuva in the Russian official. The rural communities also bear the Tuvan name Sumon ( comparable to the sums in Mongolia ).
