Adolf Robinson

Adolf Robinson ( born July 8, 1838 in Stanislav, Galicia; † August 25, 1920 in Vienna) was a singer ( baritone) and a singing teacher.

Life

As a student of singing teachers Francesco Lamperti (1811-1892) in Milan Adolf Robinson was at the time one of the most celebrated baritone on the German opera stage and one of the first singers of the operas of Richard Wagner. Together with Albert Niemann, Lilli Lehmann and others, he was also very successful in the United States of America.

In later years he lived in Brno from 1898 in Vienna and gave singing lessons. Among his pupils were among others Rudolf Berger, Joseph Black and Leo Slezak.
