Adriane Lenox

Adriane Lenox ( born September 11, 1956 in Memphis, Tennessee) is an American theater and film actress.

Life

Lenox began early with the singing and had as a child in the choir performances and festivals at Christmas and Easter. She attended Lambuth College in Jackson, Tennessee, where she obtained a degree in drama. Then she went to New York and appeared in the Broadway play Is not Misbehavin. Subsequently other theater roles as well as smaller film appearances, including as a guest performer in the television series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

From 2005 to 2006 she played at the Walter Kerr Theatre in New York, a 12 minute-long role in John Patrick Shanley's Broadway play Doubt, which was later filmed under the title question of faith. It was her first theater performance in which she took a speaking part, after she had previously always sung. For this role she won the Tony Award, among others, in the category of Best Supporting Actress.

2006 and 2009 took over Lenox supporting roles in the U.S. Dramas Black Snake Moan and Blindside - The great opportunity. Since 2011 she plays the sherry in the sitcom 30 Rock and Angel Auroro in legal drama Damages - the power.

Lenox is married to the musician and arranger Zane Dance marrow. Their daughter Crystal Joy is a musical actress.
