Adrien Broner

Adrien Broner Jerome ( born July 28, 1989 in Cincinnati, Ohio) is an American professional boxer, former world champion of the WBO super featherweight champion, former world champion of the WBC lightweight world champion and former WBA welterweight.

Boxing career

Adrien Broner began at the age of six years with the sport of boxing and won 300 of 319 amateur fights. In the years 2002 and 2003, he was each Silver Gloves Champion and in 2005 won a bronze medal at the National Junior Olympics.

In 2008 he became a professional and is under contract with Golden Boy Promotions. By early 2011, he played a number of construction victories against boxers like Fernando Quintero ( 7-0), William Kickett (15-1 ), Rafael Lora ( 11-2 ) and Guillermo Sanchez (11-1). He was in June 2010 Intercontinental Youth Champion of the WBC and in January 2011, the U.S. champion WBC.

On March 5, 2011, he defeated Daniel Ponce de Leon ( 41-2 ) by unanimous decision, and thus became Intercontinental champion of the WBO super featherweight. On June 18, 2011, he defeated Jason Litzau ( 28-2 ) by TKO in the first round and then won a world title chance against Vicente Martin Rodriguez of the WBO ( 34-2 ). This he defeated on November 26, 2011 in Cincinnati by Ko in the third round.

Following a TKO win in the fourth round against Eloy Perez ( 23-0 ) and a TKO win in the fifth round against Vicente Escobedo ( 26-3 ), he went up into a lightweight. There he won on November 17, 2012 in Atlantic City by TKO in the eighth round against Antonio DeMarco ( 28-2 ), the world championship of the WBC. This he defended the first time on February 16, 2013 against the British European champion Gavin Rees ( 37-1 ), by giving up his opponent after the fifth round.

On June 22, 2013, he defeated Paul Malignaggi ( 32-4 ) on points. He thus won the World Championship the WBA welterweight, he lost again already at December 14, 2013 against Marcos Maidana ( 34-3 ).

Others

After a victory he always performs a wayward dance, called by himself Mr Miyagi on. Another special feature is in front of the seemingly constant combing his hair and after fights.

One of his most famous statements he -actuated after interview after his victory against Eloy Pérez; Listen, man, they call me "The problem," but you can call me the "CAN -man", 'cause anybody can get some, Mexi -CAN, Afri - CANS, Ameri -CAN, even Republi - CANS ".

Adrien Broner lives in Cincinnati and is the father of four children.
