AFC U-16 Women's Championship

The U-16 Asian Cup Women ( officially: AFC U-16 Women's Championship ) is a competition for women's football, which is organized by the Asian Football Confederation ( AFC) for the U -16 selections. In addition, it also serves as a qualifying tournament for the U-17 World Cup of women.

For the first time the championship was held in 2005, then appeared in eight teams. For the final round, none of the teams had to qualify. In this, Japan was in the finals prevail against China. Both teams qualified for the World Cup in Canada. In the second playout 2007 qualifying round was introduced in addition, North Korea won the second edition and qualified with Japan and South Korea for the World Cup 2008 in New Zealand. 2009 in Thailand, the South Korean team won against North Korea in the final. This gave the two Korean teams as well as third-placed Japan qualified for the World Cup finals in Trinidad and Tobago. For the fourth playout 2011 turn was a modified mode.
