AFC U-19 Women's Championship

The U-19 Asian Cup Women ( officially: AFC U-19 Women's Championship ) is a competition in women's football, which is organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC ) for the U-19 selections. In addition, he also serves as a qualifying tournament for the U-20 World Cup of women.

For the first time the championship was held in 2002, then went to 16 teams. For the final round, none of the teams had to qualify, the three group winners and the best second-placed team reached the semi-finals. In this issue, Japan was able to prevail in the final against Taiwan. Both teams qualified for the World Cup in Canada. In the second edition in 2004 quarter -finals of the tournament was also introduced, South Korea won the second edition and qualified together with China for the 2004 World Championships in Thailand.

After FIFA had increased the number of teams at the World Cup Asia was awarded another place. The fifth finals took place from 1 to 12 August 2009 in the People's Republic of China place and acted as a qualifying round for the U-20 World Cup 2010 Women in Germany.
