African U-17 Championship

The U-17 African Cup of Nations (English African U -17 Championship ) or Junior Football African Cup is a football tournament between the best teams in Africa for male soccer players under 17 years. It takes place every two years and serves as a qualifying tournament for the U-17 FIFA World Cup, where in each case the top four teams qualify for the World Cup.

By 1993, the tournament served exclusively as a qualification for the U-16/17-Weltmeisterschaft and was discharged in the knockout system with return game. A tournament winner has not been determined. Since 1991, following a qualification round, a tournament of the best eight teams for the title of African champions the Junior U -17 in a selected country.
