Agariste

In ancient Greece, two important personalities named Agariste are found ( gr Ἀγαρίστη [ Agariste ] ):

• Agariste ( daughter of Cleisthenes ) who was married to a suitor and was the mother of Cleisthenes of Athens
• Agariste ( daughter of Hippocrates ), the granddaughter of the daughter of Cleisthenes, the mother of the strategists Pericles, whom she had dreamed of as a lion
