Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Marvel's Agents of SHIELD, also abbreviated Agents of SHIELD, is an American television series developed by the brothers Joss and Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen, which depicts a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The series is about the fictional Marvel secret organization SHIELD, whose main character, played by Clark Gregg of Phil Coulson is. The series is produced by Marvel Television, ABC Studios and Mutant Enemy for the U.S. ABC network and aired on this since 24 September 2013.

Due to an output deals with the Walt Disney Company are the broadcast rights for Germany in the Media Group RTL Germany. The media group exudes the series since 31 January 2014 on the pay-TV channels RTL Crime.

Background

After Marvel was acquired by the Walt Disney Company in 2009, a subsidiary production company for television under the name Marvel Television was founded. In July 2012, there were negotiations between Marvel and ABC television on a television series. The following month it was announced that Joss Whedon, who had been director of Marvel's The Avengers, would participate in the creation of the series. The director of the pilot episode was acquired by himself, he wrote the screenplay with his brother Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen.

The shooting of the first episode lasted from 22 January to 11 February 2013. On May 10, 2013 ABC gave the green light for a first season with 13 episodes. Maurissa Tancharoen later announced that Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon, Jeff Bell, Paul Zbyszewski, Monica Breen, Brent Fletcher, Lauren LeFranc, Rafe Judkins and Shalisha Francis will serve as authors of the series.

In October, ABC ordered nine more episodes for the first season, so this comes to 22 episodes.
