Jed Whedon

Jed Tucker Whedon ( born July 18, 1974) is an American screenwriter and musician.

Life

Jed Whedon comes from a family of authors, he is the son of Tom Whedon Writers and grandson of writers John Whedon. His siblings are the screenwriter Zack Whedon, and the producer, writer and director Joss Whedon. On 19 April 2009, he married the screenwriter Maurissa Tancharoen.

Together with his brothers Joss and Zack, and his then fiancé Maurissa Tancharoen wrote the musical web series Dr. Horrible 's Sing - Along Blog. The series won the 2009 Emmy Award in the category " Special Class - Short - format Live - Action Entertainment Programs."

Before Dr. Horrible, Jed composed music for video games and was a member of the now-defunct band The Southland. In 2010 he brought out an album with the title History of Forgotten Things under the band name " Jed Whedon and the Willing ". For the album helped his wife Maurissa and their mutual friend Felicia Day. Together with Felicia Day, he composed the music for the song ( Do You Wanna Date My ) Avatar of The Guild web series. He also directed the accompanying music video.

Up to oust him and his wife Maurissa were authors for the Fox series Dollhouse, which was invented by his brother Joss Whedon. After that, they were writers for Spartacus. For his work on Dr. Horrible 's Sing - Along Blog Jed won two Streamy Awards for Best Writing for a Comedy Web Series and Best Original Music for a Web Series.
