Geographical Location

The municipality is located in northern Baden Kleiner Odenwald, bordering the northeastern Kraichgau and is located approximately 25 kilometers southeast of Heidelberg.

History

Aglasterhausen

The place name is derived from the Old High German agilalstra (Elster). About agile aster, Aggleisterhusen ( 1265 ), Agile St Husen ( 1278 ), Agileisterwiler, Alster Hausen, Agelesterhausen (1406) the place name finally changed to the present Aglasterhausen.

Aglasterhausen 1137 was first mentioned in purchase negotiations in connection with the Lords of Kirchheim. The right of patronage was the Lords of Horneck. The brothers Werner and Konrad von Horneck gave a deed dated May 27, 1254, these rights together with those of the city helmet pin Wimpfen.
