Ahmad Jannati

Called Ahmad Ahmad Jannati also Dschannati Mesah or Janati Ayatollah (Persian احمد جنتی, born 1926 in Esfahan ) is an Iranian ayatollah, politician and chairman of the Guardian Council.

Life

Ahmad Dschannati was born the son of Hashem Dschannati Mesah in the village Ladan In the near Isfahan and attended the religious school " Dschede Bozorg " in Isfahan. In 1945 he took up his studies at the famous Theological School in Qom and taught after finishing his studies in 1964 and even at the Haghani School together with the Ayatollah Beheshti and Ayatollah Saduqi. He was appointed after the Islamic Revolution on February 20, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini in 1980 by the first Guardian Council, and currently holds the presidency. He is also a member of the Assembly of Experts and the Expediency Council. He is regarded as ultra religious advocate of the principle of rule of law scholars. At times, he appears as a Friday prayer in Tehran and took it in the past, even under the Islamic clergy, for some unrest.

Family

After Akbar Aalami, member of the Iranian parliament, were Dschannatis sons Ali and Hossein and Hossein's wife before the Islamic Revolution activists Volksmodschahedin (MEK). After the revolution Hossein Dschannati was in fighting between the Volksmodschahedin and supporters of the Islamic Republican Party killed by an armed group Hezbollahi, Dschannatis daughter is also a member of the Volksmodschahedin and is now living abroad and members of the leadership of the MEK. Ali Dschannati turn left the MEK and has since worked for the National Television ( Seda Sima wa ).
