Ahmad Wali

Ahmad Wali ( Persian: احمد ولی; * in Kabul ) is an Afghan singer and currently lives in the United States.

Wali came as immigrants from Afghanistan to Germany and then went to America. At twelve, he learned to play the Tabla under Ustad Zaland. His first song was Chashman e Abe, however, outweighed his passion and talent for singing, so that the instrument game fell into the background. With his voice and also supported by its appealing looks, he quickly rose in the ranks of the most popular singers of Afghanistan in the 1970s. In his music productions, he often collaborated with other well-known Afghan musicians, such as Hangama, Mahwash or Salma Jahani.

Wali regularly goes on tour in Iran and other countries. In addition, he participated in the music lessons from Mohamed Hussein Sara slope. From the early to mid 80s, Ahmad Wali toured through several European countries. Often the proceeds of these concerts went to refugees and displaced persons of the Afghan civil war.

In the 1970s, Wali working together on numerous occasions with the singer Hangama and also took on many common songs whose special romantic touch often been the subject of the press. A relationship that was going beyond a purely professional relationship confirmed or denied by either of the two. When the two had left the country and met again in Germany, they got married, got divorced after a short time, however. Ahmad Wali later married twice more. From his first marriage he has a son.
