Ahmet Özhan

Ahmet Özhan ( born August 26, 1950 in Urfa ) is a Turkish singer of Turkish classical and mystic music ( Sufi music ).

He attended the Conservatory in Istanbul, where he received classical vocal training; at the same time he studied with Emin Ongan from Istanbul's Üsküdar.

In 1991, Ahmet Özhan was appointed by the Turkish Ministry of Culture to the director of the choir of Historical Istanbul Music, In 1998, he received the award of a public artist.

He is a member of the State Ensemble for Classical Turkish music. He presented there during public appearances not only classical Ilahis ( mystical songs ) known Turkish and Persian poet, but also takes part in the musical accompaniment to the traditional Sema event in the Mevlevi tariqa, which is in the West as the " Whirling Dervishes " known.

Under this state ensembles Ahmet Özhan has visited a large number of countries in Europe and Asia.
